Our Background

Lilly’s Cozy Cove vacation rental was created by a duo composed of a chef/teacher imported from Chicago and a Doctor of Anthropology/teacher/gardener who grew up in Croatia and lived in the US for 2 decades, before returning back home. The first part of our life partnership we spent in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina, and are now realizing our next dream, in a cove of a small village of Tisno on the Croatian coast.
At the age of 16, Joe began cooking professionally, falling in love with edible art. His specialty is Italian cuisine and his favorite meals to create are risotto, branzino (sea bass) and tiramisu. Since living in Tisno he found passion in cooking international comfort food and Croatian food with a twist. Laura’s passion lies in growing food, upcycling, decorating our apartments, hiking and teaching.
We chose to settle down on the Dalmatian coast for the richness of its islands and inlets, its healthy cuisine based on fish and vegetables, and numerous pristine beach coves and biking routes. Tisno became our home because of its rejuvenating and relaxing small-town feeling, its amenities being in walking distance from our vacation rental, and plenty of nature trails near us.

We offer three short-term holiday rental apartments during summer and off-season affordable monthly rental to digital nomads/remote workers/entrepreneurs.   
We believe in creating a care-free and comfortable home away from home for our guests. Lilly's Cozy Cove is a place where you can recharge your batteries and rejuvenate your spirit away from the hectic life and bustling cities. This principle is our guide in how we name and decorate our apartments and how we interact with our guests. We make ourselves available to fulfill whatever needs our guests might have, from suggesting local restaurants, natural and cultural places to explore, or sharing a cup of coffee or a meal in our yard.
We work in harmony with nature and local people, growing our own food, cooking it with love, feeding all living beings and living simply. When we are not cooking, digging or growing, we are hiking, biking, reading, loving on our furry kids, or just relaxing at one of the Murter island beaches.
